Wilbur Dam Road (433.2) - Primitive Camp (457.5)

Me and my Aunt, Niza. Grateful for the couple of days of trail support and resupply!

I had my last hotel breakfast for a few days, said goodbye to my aunt, and set off early on the trail. The first few miles were tough going, as my body readjusted to having my usual heavy pack to carry. I enjoyed one last vestige of real food for lunch, a fresh sandwich.

Then it was right back to hiking to cover as much terrain as I could. I passed through farmland, mostly cow pastures (picture), during the afternoon.

I set up camp right by the side of the trail around six (picture) and had my dinner of cold chicken noodle casserole. It wasn’t much compared to the restaurant meals I’d enjoyed the previous two days, but I was so hungry it hardly mattered. I finished the meal off with a Snickers bar and hung my food bag in a tree before going to sleep.

Found a nice flat, protected primitive camp site for the night
