Day 19 - 6/21/24 – The Other Kind of Wildlife – GI Bug

6/21 VA632 Road Crossing (670.4) – VA42 Sinking Creek Road Crossing (677.9)

Today was not my day. I seem to have picked up some kind of GI bug which probably aided to how I was feeling yesterday. I tried to slack pack and get some mileage, but I had to call it quits after just three hours. I did get to walk through some beautiful open fields while I was on the trail though, and I passed by a few abandoned barns. 

I spent the rest of the day cooped up in a hotel room, spending a lot of time in the bathroom. I’m not sure when I’ll be able to get back to the trail, but for now I’ll just be trying to recover. GI illness is basically an unavoidable part of the AT experience, so I guess I can check this off the list.
