Day 16 - 6/18/24 – Watipi Shelter Picnic and Blog Catchup

I had a nice shorter hike today. I had originally planned to do 25, but I decided to do 15 instead so I’d have some time to work on this blog on my last hotel day for two days. The morning passed by quickly as I listened to some Jack Johnson and Noah Kahan. I was mostly in the trees, but I saw a nice little pond right before lunch. I had lunch at a picnic table at Watipi Shelter.

I got a beautiful view from a rock outcropping during the afternoon. I finished up the day’s hike around 3:30pm, and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and catching up on my email and the blog. I also switched my gear back to my full trekking pack, as I’ll be camping tomorrow before my aunt and grandparents come out to visit in two days.

I’ve definitely been enjoying slack packing and staying in a hotel, but I’m ready to get back to camping, if only for a night.
